Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won the contract for the newly planned Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project through its subsidiary, L&T Transportation Infrastructure. The company announced the development in a regulatory filing to the BSE.
The second phase of the project will be implemented in the Rangareddy district and will be part of the “special” category with L&T, consisting of contracts priced between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore.
The access-controlled radial roadway will be a 3+3 lane road and will be 22.3 kilometers long. It will join the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the 340-kilometer-long Regional Ring Road (RRR), improving regional connectivity and the flow of traffic considerably.
Moreover, L&T will be responsible for building a 3.6-kilometer viaduct as part of the project, along with several small bridges, underpasses, and culverts. The infrastructure is anticipated to be a crucial factor in the increase of the road network in Hyderabad and the quality of the upcoming urban and economic growth.
