Authorities are reporting that 150 people remain unaccounted for after an Iranian naval vessel sank in waters off the coast of Sri Lanka.

Close to 150 people are feared missing after the Iranian Navy frigate IRIS Dena reportedly sank about 25 miles south of Galle, Sri Lanka.

According to Sri Lankan officials, rescuers saved 32 crew members from the ship. The Iranian Navy operated the ship which had 180 crew members on board. Rescue teams are continuing search operations, though officials said the exact number of personnel onboard remains unclear.

The investigation into the sinking incident has not yet determined its cause.

The Death Toll In Iran Reaches 1045 People

According to Iranian officials, the ongoing conflict between Israel and the United States has resulted in 1045 deaths.

The Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs in Iran states that the number of deceased individuals who have been authenticated for burial purposes stands at that number. The death toll cannot be independently confirmed because no verification has been carried out.

NATO Intercepts Missile Heading Toward Turkey

According to Turkey’s defense Ministry, NATO air and missile defense systems successfully intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile that had entered Turkish airspace.

The ministry stated the missile passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace before being neutralised. Debris reportedly fell in Hatay province, but no casualties were reported.

Turkey has declared its dedication to maintaining regional stability while keeping the right to respond against any potential security dangers that may affect its territory.

Escalation in Tehran

Israel confirmed it launched a new round of airstrikes targeting sites in Tehran. Smoke was seen rising near the Azadi (Freedom) Tower after US-Israeli strikes hit the area earlier this week.
