NCL Industries Commissions ₹250-Crore Cement Grinding Plant Near Anakapalle, Expands Capacity to 4 MTPA

NCL Industries commissions a new ₹250-crore cement grinding plant near Anakapalle, expanding its total capacity to 4 MTPA.

One of the key cement manufacturers in India, NCL Industries Ltd., fully set up a technically advanced cement grinding plant at Tallapalem near Anakapalle in Andhra Pradesh. Fundamentally, the plant was considered for ₹250 crore investments to fortify the company’s share in India’s fast-moving infrastructure market.

The plant was inaugurated formally by Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel, along with senior officials of the company, government representatives, and industry leaders-the event marking a historic beginning.

🏗️ Capacity and Economic Impact

The newly established greenfield facility, with an added capacity of 6.6 lakh tonnes per annum to NCL’s existing capacity, injects an additional 660,000 TPA into NCL, raising its total capacity to 4 million tonnes per annum. On a 40-acre site, the plant was designed to produce multiple kinds of eco-friendly cement, namely:

Portland Slag Cement (PSC)

Portland Composite Cement (PCC)

Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC)

GGBS stands for: Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

Or, more straightforwardly:

Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).

The project will be able to generate about 250 direct and indirect types of employment toward an annual contribution of over ₹50 crore being made to the state exchequer.

⚙️ Advanced Technology and Sustainability

The Anakapalle unit is equipped with Loesche Vertical Roller Mills (VRMs) to provide energy efficiency along with superior quality output. Meanwhile, in a move that reflects its keen commitment to low-carbon and sustainable manufacturing methods, NCL is building a 5 MW captive solar power plant for its operational energy needs.

💬 Leadership Commentary

The Vice Chairman of NCL, K. Ravi, said:

“The commissioning of the Visakhapatnam grinding unit represents a strategic milestone in the capacity augmentation journey. This facility fortifies our presence across high-growth geographies in eastern as well as southern India, and it does so while underlining our commitments toward operational efficiency, product quality, and customer trust.”

He added that, this expansion enabled NCL to answer satisfactorily to growing demands for infrastructure and construction across the region.

🌍 Strengthening Regional Presence

Over the years, under the flagship brand of Nagarjuna Cement, NCL Industries has become the most trusted name across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with the support of a network comprising over 3,000 dealers. The new Anakapalle plant will improve reachability through the supply chain and guarantee the faster delivery of products to the major markets in Odisha, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Given its strategic location near major infrastructure corridors as well as abundant raw material sources like slag, fly ash, and gypsum, the Visakhapatnam cement works is expected to play an important supporting role to meet the growing infrastructural needs in this region.
