The Telangana state government has made a clear announcement about its holiday calendar for 2026, thus making it easier for the employees, students, and general public to plan their year ahead in a better way.
The holidays mentioned in the announcement will be observed in all the Telangana state government offices and institutions. Similar to the preceding years, all Sundays and second Saturdays will be non-working days for the whole of 2026.
The calendar is made up of general holidays and optional holidays that include major festivals, national observances, and religious occasions that are recognized and celebrated all over the state.
Telangana General Holidays 2026
The following dates have been declared as general holidays, during which government offices across Telangana will remain closed:

State government employees can choose any five optional holidays from the list below, subject to departmental guidelines:

Important Notes
- Optional holidays must be selected in advance as per departmental rules.
- Dates related to Muslim festivals may change depending on moon sighting.
- Any additional holidays or revisions will be announced through official government notifications.
In view of the announcement, Telangana government employees can now make use of this second chance to plan holidays, festivals, and travel for 2026.
