Saina Nehwal put to rest the rumors that Parineeti Chopra unfollowed her on Instagram through her response post on social media, explaining that the actress had done so in light of having to embody her in this biopic last year. The badminton star told Subhojit Ghosh about their work relationship because there were no personal issues between them.

Parineeti played Saina in the Amole Gupte-directed film which traced her journey from Hyderabad to becoming a world No.1 shuttler and Olympic medallist. The film received mixed reviews although Parineeti’s performance received positive feedback.

The fans found out that Parineeti does not follow Saina on Instagram which started rumors about their relationship status. Saina explained that she had not paid attention to the matter because she had been preoccupied with her training schedule and tournament commitments. The conversation with him showed that we only discussed work matters because we lacked any personal bond.

She further explained that their meetings were limited to work-related discussions. “It was totally professional work for which she was there. I was always busy with my training, and we never really had a lunch or dinner. Whenever we met, the director would always be around. There was nothing like spending a lot of time together to become friends. It was mostly about her work in the film.”

The Instagram account of Saina Nehwal shows that she and Parineeti Chopra do not follow each other at present. Saina used social media platforms to support her work on the biopic which she developed together with her business partner.
