Samsung Electronics has made an announcement regarding the incorporation of Google Photos to its Samsung AI TV range, giving users the opportunity to witness their favorite moments again on a big, movie-like screen. The purpose of integrating the application is to enhance the quality of the family’s memory from trips and weekends or daily interactions and to make it more comfortable and pleasant in the living room.
Kevin Lee, Executive VP of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, mentioned, “Samsung TVs have always been a means of uniting people, and the option to view Google Photos on such a big screen, does, however, make that experience more intimate. The cooperation between the two companies is certainly one that assists customers in rediscovering and recalling their past memories with family and friends.”
A New Way to Enjoy Personal Photos
The partnership will enable Samsung television owners to enjoy their Google Photos library without any interruptions, thus experiencing the collection of memories sorted by categories like people, places, and events. The images can be displayed using Samsung’s Vision AI Companion (VAC) functionalities, such as Daily+ and Daily Board, thus giving rise to user-friendly moments where the favorite memories of users are shown to them throughout the day.
The process of the integration will not be complicated at all: the users will log in with their Google Account, and their photo library will be visible on the TV immediately.
Key Features Coming in 2026
- Memories (Early 2026, exclusive for six months on Samsung TVs): Curated stories based on people, locations, and key moments, now on the big screen.
- Create with AI (Later 2026): Themed templates powered by Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana for image generation and editing. Features include Remix to transform image styles and Photo to Video to animate still images.
- Personalized Results (Later 2026): Slideshow-style displays of related photos grouped by themes like hiking, oceans, or travel destinations.
A Seamless Cinematic Experience
The partnership upgrades Samsung TVs to be interactive art spaces, thus facilitating the users to view, make and remember. Shimrit Ben-Yair, the Google Photos VP, said, “We are thrilled to make the Google Photos available on Samsung TVs – assisting users in seeing their cherished pictures on a bigger screen and remembering their past in different ways.”
Availability
The Google Photos experience is set to be compatible with Samsung TV’s 2026 and later launches, whereas it will still be accessible on older models via an operating system update. The mobile version of Memories, Create, and Personalized Results will start to be provided to customers gradually during the course of the year.
This merger has a potential to turn Samsung televisions into a center for gathering family stories and preserving digital memories, combining the smart curating done by AI with the big screen’s luxurious quality.
