Stock Markets Alert: Consecutive Holidays Ahead, Investors Advised to Plan Trades

Stock market holiday alert as BSE, NSE and commodity markets remain closed on December 25 due to Christmas.

The Indian stock market holidays are warnings for investors and traders. Because of Christmas, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on December 25 (Thursday).

Market activities will be halted for a short time as trading in all segments will be stopped. Market players will have to adjust their positions, settlements, and trading strategies accordingly.

Markets Closed on December 25

Trading will be suspended in the following segments:

  • Equity Market
  • Equity Derivatives
  • Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB)
  • Currency Derivatives

Commodity Market Update

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and NCDEX have also announced a full-day holiday on Christmas. Both morning and evening sessions will remain closed, bringing commodity trading to a complete halt for the day.

Long Weekend for Markets

  • December 25 (Thursday): Holiday season of Christmas
  • December 26 (Friday): The markets come back to life and trade goes on as usual
  • December 27 & 28 (Saturday, Sunday): Closure for the weekends

Investors are advised to keep themselves informed and to handle their trades smartly in order to not face any settlement or liquidity problems with the upcoming long weekend.
