The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that the inaugural run of the Thiruvananthapuram North–Cherlapalli Amrit Bharat Special train will be operated on Friday, January 23, 2026.
The press release which was distributed on Wednesday to announce the upcoming regular Amrit Bharat Express service which will start on this route identifies Train No. 06308 as the Train No. 06308 which will operate The scheduled service will operate as Train Nos. 17041 and 17042 between Cherlapalli and Thiruvananthapuram North, with detailed timings to be announced separately.
The Cherlapalli–Thiruvananthapuram North–Cherlapalli Amrit Bharat Weekly Express will start its regular service on January 27, 2026.
The new service will establish better train connections which will enable passengers to travel between Telangana and Kerala with greater convenience.
