Free Rides Announced for Tipsy Commuters in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve

Volunteers and vehicles arranged by the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union to provide free rides in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve.

With the goal of enhancing road safety in New Year celebrations, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) has made a public announcement about free transport in Hyderabad for those who have drunk alcohol.

The service will run on December 31 from 11 PM to 1 AM. To implement this, the union is going to send nearly 500 vehicles, comprising cars, auto-rickshaws, and electric bicycles, to ensure people’s safe homecomings.

The free ride facility is going to be applicable in the areas of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda (Malkajgiri) police commissionerates. The union also gave a helpline number 8977009804 for the assistance of the riders who want to avail of the service.

The union’s three-day plan is mainly aimed at stopping drunk driving, reducing the number of road mishaps, and providing the public with the safest time possible during the New Year celebrations.
