Hyderabad to Face 36-Hour Water Supply Disruption from January 10

Water supply maintenance work causes temporary disruption in Hyderabad.

Started Wednesday, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced that the residents in various locations including Hyderabad will be facing a 36-hour cut on drinking water supply starting from January 10, 6 AM up till January 11, 6 PM.

Multiple reservoirs such as Vanasthalipuram, Autonagar, Vaishali Nagar, Nagole, Badangpet, Lenin Nagar, Adibatla, Kammaguda, Balapur, Barkas, Maisaram, Yellugutta, Nacharam, Tarnaka, Buddh Nagar, Nallagutta, Lalapet, Marredpally, Prakash Nagar, Patigadda, Mekalamandi, Mahendra Hills, MES, Railways, Secunderabad Cantonment Board, Hashmatpet, Gautham Nagar, Ferozguda, Madhuban, Shastripuram, and even the National Police Academy will all be impacted by the water supply disruption.

HMWSSB stated that the disruption is necessary to carry out maintenance work on pumping mains and reservoirs, including addressing a leak on the pumping main from Kodandapur to Godakandla, replacing damaged air tees, butterfly valves, NRVs, and performing junction work at Nasarla Palli.

The water board has asked the consumers during the maintenance period to use water extremely savily. The task is to be done in a 36-hour time frame non-stop in order to get the water supply back to normal as quick as possible.
