Telangana is under the spell of rain, as the state experiences downpours during the whole day. The meteorological department of Hyderabad has given a new rain alert of moderate to heavy rainfalls for the entire state for the next three days.
Non-stop rains to this day are attributed to a surface trough stretching from Southern Odisha to the coast of Andhra, passing through Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Meteorologists have further pointed out that the trough will bring more rain to Telangana in the coming days.
Main alerts and warnings:
Severe Winds: Gusty winds of 30-40 km/h are the maximum that can be felt. It is recommended that residents maintain a cautious stand.
The intensity of Rainfall: Especially in urban low-lying areas where drainage systems may not be able to cope with the rains, light to moderate rains are predicted in isolated places in the state with the possibility of waterlogging.
Disruptions in Traffic: A combination of heavy rains and gusty winds may cause traffic disruptions besides difficulties in vehicular movement.
The authorities have called on the public to always be ready with precautions and to pay attention to the weather changes especially in the locations that are at risk of flooding.
