A viral video surfaced showing the sale of pirated DVDs of Bollywood super hit Dhurandhar in Pakistan as low as PKR 50 (approximately Rs. 16). Meanwhile, this film tops the Netflix streaming charts in Pakistan.
The video was spotted in this specific video, uploaded by popular YouTuber Karl Rock from India, sharing his visits to the Rainbow Centre, Karachi, the most prominent shopping center of pirated media. Karl Rock discovered a shopkeeper displaying pirated copies of Dhurandhar, the film starring Ranveer Singh.
The content of the film still takes center stage in spite of being streamed by Netflix.
Interestingly, even as privacy tends to be of the greatest concern, Dhurandhar becomes a stupendous streamer with the stream ranking achievements. The movie, being a box office record-holder, was released on Netflix on the 30th of January. The film is now on the very first week on the weekly Top 10 list, and occupying the No. 1 spot in India and Pakistan at some time.
The viral video has been the subject of many mixed opinions on the web. For example, while some users could not believe that the movie with reports of many restrictions is massively pirated and trending on streaming platforms, others were like, “How that is even possible? That DVDs and pen drives are still relevant for piracy.”
Anomalies are still the talk of such platforms referred to as social media. Such social media platforms judges these circumstances. The ones that are skeptical are now speculating as to why this movie is being Kanyakumari instead of Delhi on Pakistan! Piracy has continued even in the digital age of CDs.
In a statement that supposedly sealed the deal on the true worth of the film, the producer said, “Many times in the past filmmakers have complained about their films not releasing, not seeing the light of day, regarding budgetary restrictions for distribution but we managed even in the face of a near lockdown.”
If It Was Said Once…False Against Dhurandhar
She Said It, Renowned Producer Jyoti Deshpande, the Scenic Producer of the Scene later said. She spoke on the “unseen” Dakota of Dhurandhar which had become the most-watched film of Pakistan and siphoned viewer traffic in southern Indian states at its release, despite being out only in one-language-release film.
Franchise extended publicity for Dhurandhar 2, planned to launch on March 19, 2021.
The recently gone viral clip demonstrates the out-of-boundary following in a sense of infringement on Piracy of the film all over the website.
